The product, in the report: I bought it online from a store called Saks off 5th. It’s a 4 in 1 blow dryer styling wand with 4 attachable heads. The product name on the blow dryer is bellezza, beauty and beyond. White with cold switches.
I purchased a blow dryer that has different head attachments for different hair styles for my daughter for Christmas. I was using an attachment to blow dry my youngest daughter’s hair a few days ago, combing through her hair, in contact with her head. The blow dryer started shutting on and off even though it was powered on and being used at the moment. I unplugged the blow dryer and investigated and eliminated my outlet as an issue. I plug the blow dryer back in and powered it back on. It would not start but once I moved the cord around at the end I noticed it would shut on and off depending on how the blow dryer was moved and while I was moving it, it started sparking. I immediately contacted the company and they asked for a video of it sparking. I made the video and while the blow dryer was powered off, laying down, it shot a couple sparks out and a pretty good size flame came out of the cord. Keep in mind I was using this on my child moments before and I’ve only had it 3 months. I sent the company videos of the sparking and of the blow dryer after it caught fire. I didn’t hear back from them and had to reach out 2 days later. They’ve only offered a 10% refund but I’ve specifically asked in more than one email if they were concerned about the product catching fire. They have never acknowledged that statement or question. They still just keep offering a discount, which doesn’t help me right now, but have not said anything about steps to prevent this from happening again or even mentioned anything about the product catching fire.
