The product, in the report: Babyliss Professional hair dryer Model # BABP6685N. Black matte color. This was used for personal use not professional use.
I was drying my hair and repositioned the hair dryer when it shot sparks out of the front of the dryer about 6-8”. The dryer did not shut off. I turned the dryer off and unplugged it. I found about 20 pin holes on my mirror from hot metal hitting it from the back of the dryer. I cut the cord in two places to prevent further use of the dryer. I have the dryer.

The product, in the report: BaByliss PRO Rapido Blow dryer Model BF7000
BaByliss PRO Rapido Blow dryer I’m a cosmetologist. I bought this dryer about six months ago from SalonCentric (professional distributor of beauty products). I work only part time so it had not been heavily used. Within six weeks (at work) it was plugged in but not in use. We smell something burning and smoke is coming out of my cabinet. This dryer was hot, smoking from both ends and glowing red inside. It was NOT on. It was simply plugged in. The store replaced it with the same model. I purposely unplugged it every time I left for the day. Yesterday, I plug it in while getting ready for my day. I never turned it on, simply plugged it in. About an hour later, while doing a haircut, we start smelling something burning and the same thing. Smoke pouring out of my cabinet. It was hot, smoking from both ends and hot. IT WAS NOT TURNED ON, only plugged in. There are several reviews on the distributor’s website basically saying the same thing. This could have caused a fire. This could have set someone’s hair on fire. This product is dangerous and a fire hazard.

The product, in the report: Hair dryer black Babyliss PRO Ceramix Xtreme model BAB2000
I have a Babyliss PRO Ceramix Xtreme model BAB2000 hair dryer purchased from Amazon in October 2013. Since I first used this product, I noticed that the handle got hotter than any hair dryer I had previously owned. I used it still, until two days ago when it twice flipped the breaker in my house when I was using it. I tried it again the next day and this time sparks flew out of the handle!!! At least I had enough wits about me to hold on to the hair dryer with one hand and unplug it from the wall with the other. Had I dropped it, as was my first instinct, my house could have burned down!
Contacted Amazon, but they won’t issue a refund at this point. Contacted Conair, who make this product, and they will only replace it with an identical product (which I am scared to use.)
This is a dangerous product and very poor customer service to go along with it!

The product, in the report: Conair Babyliss Pro Hairdryer
Hair dryer spontaneously began sparking and smoking after less than a year of regular use. Conair has been very ineffective about replacing the hair dryer or responding to inquiries about complaints. Will not let me speak to anyone except for the customer service representative. Smoking was enough to set of smoke alarms in the house.

The product, in the report: Hair Dryer
Turned on my BabylissPro TT hair dryer and immediately lifted near my head to dry my hair. Within about 2 seconds, the dryer sounded odd and then it exploded. Pieces of the dryer flew all over the room I was in. I picked up approximately 7 different pieces of the dryer. It appears the plastic fan on the inside broke which then caused the exterior to explode as well.

The product, in the report: Hairdryer Babybliss Pro TT Tourmaline 5000
I have a Babybliss Pro TT Tourmaline 5000 hairdryer. It literally exploded in my hand as I was drying my hair. I bought this hairdryer in Nov 2009. It was $99.00. I noticed there was a recall on other models but did not see this one. Sounds like it did the same thing the insides are shattered. I have tried to fill out the recall form on Babybliss recall but it does not except it. Need to know how to get it replaced.
Thank you.
