The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Remington All That Blow Dryer

While drying my hair on January 18, 2012, my Remington All That blow dryer, Model D3310, began smoking and then something inside of it sounded like it was shattering. It did not shut itself off and was a frightening experience! I called the company on the 19th to report the incident and they took my name, address, and phone number stating they would send a prepaid mailer so I could return the dryer and get a replacement. They did not appear overly friendly or concerned and when nothing arrived by mail, I called them again on the 26th. It is now late in the day on January 30 and I have not heard anything from Remington. A web search indicated several other people have had similar problems with the same model. I believe it could be a fire/shock hazard and should be taken off the market.
