The product, in the report: Innowave Water Dispenser
Innowave Model 12-CHCMU3 filtered water dispenser. The dispenser has a UV lamp in it to assist in the water cleaning process. This lamp needs periodic replacement. Upon replacing the lamp, the lamp was found to be saturated in water for quite some time leading to corrosion of the UV lamp metallic caps. This corrosion caused the UV lamp seal to break releasing Hg (Mercury) into the cold water supply. (The bulb has an inscription saying it contains Mercury). Thus, my family was potentially exposed to Mercury contamination because of this faulty design. The manufacturer should have incorporated extra safeguards into their product design to prevent this possibility.
