Emergency room Made Aug 25, 2023, sent to the company Aug 30, 2023, published by CPSC Sep 14, 2023
The product, in the report: Senzeal 2X Crystal Glass Aquatic Plant Cup Pot with 4X Suction Cups for Fish Tank Aquarium Aquascape
I purchased a suction-mount glass planter from Amazon that I was using to store small planted herbs on my kitchen window for a few months. One day I put a new plant in the planter and went to stick it back in place on the window. The design of the product requires a small amount of pressure applied in order for the suction cups to properly mount. Unfortunately this small amount of pressure was enough to cause the whole planter to shatter in my hand and plunge jagged glass into my right palm. I started bleeding profusely and rushed to urgent care, however they did not recommend stitching the wound until it had been evaluated by an orthopedic specialist at the emergency room. A few hours later I did receive six stitches and was scheduled for follow-up. Since then it has been determined that I most likely sustained nerve damage and will need to have surgery next week to repair the nerve that was cut.
