As each report says it, in short words; CPSC’s own words are under each.

The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No one hurt

Made Jun 28, 2012, sent to the company Jul 10, 2012, published by CPSC Jul 24, 2012

The product, in the report: Aquarium Fundamentals Black Scroll Aquarium Stand 48.3” L X 12.8” W X 27.8” H For 55 gallon Aquariums SKU: 1384473

I purchased http://www.petco.com/product/114367/Aquatic-Fundamentals-Black-Scroll-Aquarium-Stand.aspx?CoreCat=certona-_-ProductListTopRated_Fish_4-_-Aquatic%20Fundamentals%20Black%20Scroll%20Aquarium%20Stand-114367 for a 55 gallon tank and it is defective. And just by reviews on the site mine is not the only one. My tank had wrong sized parts and when I left a brace off because it was the wrong size my stand began to lean and nearly collapsed with a 500 lb tank. This apparently is what others complain of on the site. These stands are messed up straight out the factory and its crazy because they could spontaneously collapse. That could kill one of my pets, my toddler, or basically anyone standing near it. The brace is shrugged off as not important but it has to be sized to a millimeter in order to stop all wobble issues and this manufacterer could care less. I contacted PETCO and they merely offered to send another or refund. I can’t risk this stand in my house so I took a refund. I also asked them to look into it and read customer reviews and I was not taken seriously. No one gave me a number to contact or anything. So for the sake of anyone with this stand I am reporting it.
