Emergency room Made Jun 17, 2014, sent to the company Jun 26, 2014, published by CPSC Jul 11, 2014
The product, in the report: A glass fish bowl on like a small petistool. suppose to hold 1.5 gallons of water.
On April 18, 2012 I bought the Top Fin Fish bowl from Pets Mart in Lake Worth, Texas. That night I switched the fish into the new bowl, my husband came home after about 20 minutes of the fish being in the new bowl, to say, there is water all over the shelf up here from this fish bowl. I took the fish bowl down, switched the fish back into his old bowl and was wiping the Top Fin fish bowl out with a towl, barely touching the glass. The fish bowl crumbled into my hand and severly cut the palm of my left hand. It cut the main tendon in my left hand to where I was just pulsing blood out as my heart beat. I was taken to the ER and the doctor put 26 stitches in my hand. He stated if I had not come to the ER I would have bled to death with that tendon being cut. I missed a week of work due to this injury from this faulty manufacted bowl. The next day I took the fish bowl back to Pets Mart in a bag with all the pieces to let them know what happened. I spoke with the manager at the time and he said there was nothing that could be done. I was shocked he said that. I have now sent the manufacturer all the pictures of my injured hand, the recall letter and the ER bills. I am very frustrated waiting on them.
