What’s wrong with it?
THIS CONDITION COULD RESULT IN THE TIRE SEPARATION FROM THE WHEEL, INCREASING THE RISK OF A VEHICLE CRASH.
EQUIPMENT DESCRIPTION: AFTERMARKET ALUMINUM LIGHT TRUCK WHEELS, 16”X6”, USED WITH DUAL REAR WHEEL AXLE APPLICATIONS.
FATIGUE CRACKS CAN OCCUR AT MULTIPLE LOCATIONS IN THE OUTBOARD BEAR SEAT AREA, ALLOWING AIR TO SLOWLY LEAK OUT OF THE TIRE.
IF THE USER IGNORES THE PROBLEM, THE CRACKS CAN CONTINUE AROUND THE CIRCUMFERENCE OF THE WHEEL, CAUSING THE FACE OF THE WHEEL TO SEPARATE FROM THE REMAINING PART OF THE WHEEL.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
