What’s wrong with it?
THIS CONDITION CAN CAUSE FUEL LEAKAGE, AND IF AN IGNITION SOURCE IS PRESENT, COULD RESULT IN A FIRE.
UNDER HIGH AMBIENT TEMPERATURES (GREATER THAN 95 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT) AND THE FUEL TANK LEVEL BETWEEN 1/4 AND 1/2 FULL, THE FUEL TANK INTERNAL PRESSURE CAN INCREASE CAUSING THE TANK TO EXPAND.
TANK EXPANSION CAUSES AN INTERFERENCE BETWEEN THE FUEL TANK PROTECTIVE SHIELD AND THE PROPELLER SHAFT RESULTING A HOLE IN THE FUEL TANK AT THE POINT OF SHIELD-TO-SHAFT CONTACT.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
