What’s wrong with it?
THIS WILL RESULT IN DECREASED BRAKE EFFECTIVENESS,EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCES AND COULD RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT.
IF THE BOLT IS INSTALLED WITH THE THREAD PORTION OF THE BOLT TOWARD THE WHEEL, THE DISTANCE BETWEEN THE THREADED PORTION OF THE BOLT AND THE CALIPER HOUSING IS NOT SUFFICIENT.
THE BOLT WILL COME IN CONTACT WITH THE CALIPER CAUSING THE BRAKE PAD TO SEPARATE FROM THE BRAKE ROTOR.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
