What’s wrong with it?
THIS CONDITION LEADS TO INCREASED STOPPING DISTANCE, ANDSHOULD MINIMUM STOPPING DISTANCE BE REQUIRED, IT COULD RESULT IN AN ACCIDENTWITHOUT WARNING.
BRAKES MAY HAVE MISSING REAR AXLE OUTER BEARING RETAINING RING AND OR GREATER THAN SPECIFIED BEARING END PLAY.
EITHER CONDITION ALLOWS THE ROTOR AND HUB ASSEMBLY TO SHIFT POSITION RELATIVE TO THE SPINDLE.
THIS MOVEMENT CAN CAUSE BRAKE CALIPER PISTON RECEDE FARTHER THAN NORMAL INTO THE PISTON BORE WHICH WOULD REQUIRE GREATER THAN NORMAL BRAKE FLUID DISPLACEMENT WHEN THE SERVICE BRAKES ARE APPLIED.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
