What’s wrong with it?

IF CLIPS BROKE DURING ORDINARY USAGE, CLIPS (OR BROKEN PIECES) COULD POSE A CHOKING RISK TO THE CHILD WHO ATTEMPTED TO SWALLOW THE CLIP OR PIECES OF A CLIP.

THE POLYPROPELENE FASTENERS (CANOE CLIP) USED TO ATTACH THE SEATS MAY CONTAIN HAIRLINE BREAKS OR WEAKNESSES THAT COULD CAUSE THE CLIP TO BREAK.

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
  • Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
