What’s wrong with it?
The notice gives no hazard in a field of its own.
THE ENGINE CONTINUES TO RUN OR CAN START UP WHEN THE SENTINEL SHUTDOWN UNIT BLOCKS THE FLOW OF FUEL.
THIS ALLOWS FUEL PRESSURE TO BUILD UP IN THE FUEL LINE WHICH MAY CAUSE THE FUEL LINE OR FILTER TO SPLIT OPEN AND LEAK OR SPRAY FUEL INTO THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT.
CONSEQUENCE OF DEFECT: IF THIS OCCURS, THE FUEL LEAKING OR SPRAYING INTO THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT MAY CAUSE A FIRE.
NOTE: AN IMMEDIATE STEP TO BE TAKEN TO PREVENT A FAILURE IS TO TURN THE CONTROL HANDLE ON THE SENTINEL SHUTDOWN UNIT FROM “RUN” TO “BYPASS”.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
