What’s wrong with it?
The notice gives no hazard in a field of its own.
SOLID MATERIAL APPEARING TO BE EPOXY/PHENOLIC RESIN USED TO COAT THE INSIDE OF THE DRUMS IN WHICH THE BRAKE FLUID IS PACKAGED IS CAUSING FLUID CONTAMINATION.
CONSEQUENCE OF DEFECT: THE PRESENCE OF SOLID MATERIAL IN BRAKE FLUID COULD CAUSE THE MAIN PISTON IN A BRAKE SYSTEM TO SEIZE, WHICH COULD CAUSE THE VEHICLE’S BRAKES TO LOCK.
THIS COULD RESULT IN LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL IN AN EMERGENCY BRAKING APPLICATION WHICH COULD LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT.

- Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
