What’s wrong with it?
The notice gives no hazard in a field of its own.
THE TANDEM AXLE SUSPENSION SYSTEMS HAVE BOTTOM COIL SPRING BOXES THAT MAY HAVE IMPROPER WELDS, OR BOLTS THAT MAY BE OF AN INAPPROPRIATE GRADE, OR BOLTS THAT MAY HAVE BEEN IMPROPERLY TORQUED AT TIME OF INSTALLATION.
CONSEQUENCE OF DEFECT: UNDER ORDINARY USE, THE BOTTOM COIL SPRING BOX OR BOLTS MAY FAIL, WHICH MAY CAUSE LOSS OF A COIL SPRING FROM MOTORHOME.
THE LOSS OF THE COIL SPRINGS COULD GO UNNOTICED, POSING NO DANGER TO THE OCCUPANTS OF THE MOTORHOME.
HOWEVER, THE LOOSE SPRINGS MAY BE A HAZARD TO OTHER MOTORISTS.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
