What’s wrong with it?
The notice gives no hazard in a field of its own.
ON THE INVOLVED VEHICLES, CASTING DEFICIENCES EXIST IN THE AREA OF THE WHEEL MOUNTING FLANGE OR THE INNER WHEEL BEARING.
WHEN A FLANGE FAILURE OCCURS, THE FLANGE, ALONG WITH THE WHEEL AND TIRE, BECOME DISENGAGED FROM THE VEHICLE AND MAY ROLL FREE.
WHEN A BARREL SECTION FAILURE OCCURS, THE HUB IS RETAINED ON THE AXLE SPINDLE BY THE WHEEL BEARING ADJUSTING NUT.
CONTINUED OPERATION MAY THEN LEAD TO HUB FAILURE, PROGRESSIVE DAMAGE TO THE HUB, AND EVENTUALLY, SEPARATION OF THE HUB, WITH THE WHEEL AND TIRE, FROM THE VEHICLE.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
