The short answer

NHTSA received General Motors, LLC’s report on Oct 29, 2026. Copied from NHTSA on Nov 4, 2026.

Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

A loss of braking ability increases the risk of a crash.

General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2023–2027 Cadillac LYRIQ, 2025–2026 model year Cadillac CELESTIQ, 2024–2027 Chevrolet Blazer EV, and 2026-2027 Cadillac VISTIQ vehicles.

The brake system control module (BSCM) contains a software defect that may cause a loss of braking during certain driving conditions.

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt. Owners’ complaints are counted on each vehicle’s page.
  • Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
