The short answer

NHTSA received General Motors, LLC’s report on Sep 24, 2026. Copied from NHTSA on Nov 1, 2026.

Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

A closing window that does not reverse direction as expected can pinch a passenger before retracting, increasing the risk of injury.

General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2025-2027 Cadillac OPTIQ vehicles.

When closed using the key fob’s express-up function, the front windows may fail to detect an obstruction and reverse direction.

As such, these vehicles fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 118, “Power-Operated Window Systems.”

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt. Owners’ complaints are counted on each vehicle’s page.
  • Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
