What’s wrong with it?
An incorrect GAWR label may lead to an overloaded vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Subaru of America, Inc.
(Subaru) is recalling certain 2026 Crosstrek Hybrid, 2025-2026 Forester Hybrid, Forester, and 2019-2026 Ascent vehicles.
These vehicles were manufactured with an incorrect Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) on the certification label.
As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 110, “Tire selection and rims.”

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt. Owners’ complaints are counted on each vehicle’s page.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
