The short answer

NHTSA received Honda (American Honda Motor Co.)’s report on Feb 26, 2026. Copied from NHTSA on Oct 26, 2026.

Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

An instrument panel display that fails to show critical safety information, such as the speedometer or warning lights, increases the risk of a crash or injury. Additionally, the loss of the rearview camera image can reduce the driver’s rear visibility, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2024 Acura ZDX and Prologue vehicles.

Due to a software error, the instrument panel display may fail.

Additionally, a software error may cause the rearview camera to display a blank screen when the vehicle is in reverse.

As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) numbers 101, “Control and Displays,” 111, “Rear Visibility,” and 305, “Electric-Powered Vehicles.”

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt. Owners’ complaints are counted on each vehicle’s page.
  • Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
