The short answer

NHTSA received Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company’s report on Jan 9, 2026. Copied from NHTSA on Oct 20, 2026.

Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

Without registration information, owners may not receive a recall notice, prolonging use of a recalled tire and increasing the risk of a crash.

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company (Goodyear) is recalling certain Cooper Discoverer SRX tires, size 255/50R20.

The Tire Identification Number (TIN) is incorrect, which can prevent owners from properly registering the tires.

As such, these tires fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard Number 574, “Tire Identification & Recordkeeping.”

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
  • Which tires, by their DOT codes: the range is in the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site, not in this file. Check the code on your tire’s sidewall against it.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
