The short answer

NHTSA received Nissan North America, Inc.’s report on Oct 21, 2026. Copied from NHTSA on Oct 28, 2026.

Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

Incorrect spare tire pressure information on the placard may lead to incorrect inflation of the spare tire, increasing the risk of a crash.

Nissan North America, Inc.

(Nissan) is recalling certain spare tire accessory kits, part number T99MB7SF0A, sold for certain 2026 Sentra vehicles.

The spare tire size and inflation information on the tire placard is incorrect.

As such, vehicles equipped with these kits fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 110, “Tire Selection and Rims.”

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
  • Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
