The short answer

NHTSA received Chrysler (FCA US, LLC)’s report on Feb 2, 2026. Copied from NHTSA on Oct 28, 2026.

Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

Trailer brake lights and turn signals that do not illuminate reduce visibility to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash. Additionally, trailer brakes that fail increase the risk of a crash.

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain Mopar tow trailer modules.

Please refer to FCA US, LLC’s recall report for specific model numbers.

Due to an improperly designed trailer tow module, the trailer lights may fail to illuminate and the trailer brakes may fail.

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
  • Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
