The short answer

NHTSA received Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations’s report on Mar 17, 2025. Copied from NHTSA on Oct 20, 2026.

Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

Incorrect belt orientation may cause the tires to fail and increase the risk of a crash.

Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations (BATO) is recalling certain R123 Ecopia tires, size 295/75R22.5, designed for use on commercial trailer vehicles.

The tires may have been manufactured incorrectly with one of the three stabilizer ply belts applied in the wrong orientation.

As such, these tires fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 119, “New pneumatic tires - other than passenger cars.”

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
  • Which tires, by their DOT codes: the range is in the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site, not in this file. Check the code on your tire’s sidewall against it.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
