What’s wrong with it?
Tires with insufficient strength may fail, increasing the risk of a crash.
Pirelli Tire, LLC (Pirelli) is recalling certain P7 Cinturato tires, size 245/45R18 100 Y.
The tires were incorrectly marked with the wrong maximum inflation pressure and may not meet the strength requirements for the stated pressure.
As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 139, “New Pneumatic Radial Tires for Light Vehicles.”

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Which tires, by their DOT codes: the range is in the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site, not in this file. Check the code on your tire’s sidewall against it.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
