The short answer

NHTSA received Chrysler (FCA US, LLC)’s report on Dec 18, 2025. Copied from NHTSA on Oct 20, 2026.

Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

Driving with a disabled electronic stability control system increases the risk of a crash. Additionally, a driver’s side air bag or seat belt pretensioner that does not deploy increases the risk of injury in a crash.

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain Mopar Occupant Restraint Controller Modules with part numbers 68599746AD, 68599750AE, and 68599752AE.

A software error in the occupant restraint control module may cause the driver’s side air bag and/or seat belt pretensioner not to deploy in a crash and disable the electronic stability control (ESC) system.

As such, this equipment fails to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 208, “Occupant Crash Protection” and 126, “Electronic Stability Control Systems.”

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
  • Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
