The short answer

NHTSA received Ford Motor Company’s report on Oct 10, 2025. Copied from NHTSA on Oct 20, 2026.

Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

Unintended acceleration increases the risk of a crash.

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain Ford Mustang superchargers with part number M-6066-M8800, that were sold as aftermarket accessory kits for 2024-2025 Mustang vehicles.

The powertrain control module (PCM) may experience a software error and disable functional safety features.

Deactivated safety features can fail to prevent unintended acceleration or unintended vehicle movement.

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
  • Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
