What’s wrong with it?
Battery failure can cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash. Additionally, a battery short circuit increases the risk of a fire.
BorgWarner has submitted a Defect Information Report based upon recall determinations made by Volvo (recall 25V055), Mack Trucks (recall 25V185), Nova Bus (recall 25V184), Cummins (recall 25E018), and Gillig (recall 25V203).
Loose hardware inside the battery may detach, causing the battery pack to short circuit and fail.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
