Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.
What’s wrong with it?
A loose or detached seat assembly increases the risk of injury.
Newmar Corporation (Newmar) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Dutch Star, Mountain Aire, London Aire, Essex, and 2016 London Aire motorhomes.
The pedestal mounting plate may be improperly welded, causing the plate to separate and the seat assembly to loosen or detach.
As such, these seat assemblies fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 207, Seating Systems,”, and number 210, “Seat belt assembly anchorages.”

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt. Owners’ complaints are counted on each vehicle’s page.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
