What’s wrong with it?
An air bag that does not function as intended increases the risk of injury.
Aisin World Corp. of America (Aisin) has submitted a Defect Information Report based upon recall determinations made by Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (23V-865) and American Honda Motor Co.
(24V-064).
Certain AEIL weight sensor assemblies may crack and short circuit, which can cause the air bag to deploy unintentionally or not deploy as intended.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
