The short answer

NHTSA received Harbor Freight Tools’s report on Feb 14, 2024. Copied from NHTSA on Oct 20, 2026.

Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

Side reflectors that do not reflect properly can reduce the visibility to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.

Harbor Freight Tools (Harbor Freight) is recalling certain Kenway LED Trailer Light Kits with part number, 64275 (UPC 193175352965) and Submersible LED Trailer Lights with part numbers, 64362 (Left UPC 792363643620) and 64361 (Right UPC 792363643610).

The reflectors may not reflect light as intended.

As such, these lights fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, “Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment.”

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
  • Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
