What’s wrong with it?
A loose or detached seat assembly increases the risk of injury.
Villa International is recalling certain seat pedestals, with part number 400029.
The pedestal mounting plate may be improperly welded, which can cause the plate to separate and the seat assembly to loosen or detach.
As such, these seat assemblies fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 207, “Seating Systems,” and number 210, “Seat belt assembly anchorages.”

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
