What’s wrong with it?
In the event of a crash, unsecured objects from within the armrest compartment may strike the vehicle occupants, increasing their risk of injury.
Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Land Rover Range Rover and 2023 Land Rover Range Rover Sport vehicles.
The second-row seat armrest storage compartment latch may fail, allowing the objects from within to be unsecured in the event of a crash.
As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 201, “Occupant Protection in Interior Impact.”

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt. Owners’ complaints are counted on each vehicle’s page.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
