The short answer

NHTSA received Maxzone Auto Parts Corporation’s report on Jun 30, 2023. Copied from NHTSA on Oct 20, 2026.

Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

A turn signal that is less noticeable to other drivers increases the risk of a crash.

Maxzone Auto Parts Corporation (Maxzone) is recalling certain DEPO rear turn signal lights with part numbers 312-1339L-UC and 312-1339R-UC.

The rear turn signal may be smaller than the minimum requirement and be less noticeable to other drivers.

As such, these turn signals fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, “Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Devices.”

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
  • Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
