The short answer

NHTSA received Chrysler (FCA US, LLC)’s report on Feb 9, 2023. Copied from NHTSA on Oct 20, 2026.

Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

A rearview image that does not display while in reverse decreases the driver’s visibility of the rear view, increasing the risk of injury or crash.

Chrysler (FCA, US, LLC) is recalling certain Mopar Trailer Reverse Steering Control Modules (TRSCM) with part numbers: 68423566AE, 68423566AF, 68423566AG, 04672915AD, and 04672915AE.

The modules may prevent the rearview image from displaying when the vehicle is placed in reverse.

As such, these modules fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, “Rear Visibility.”

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
  • Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
