The short answer

NHTSA received Vermeer Manufacturing Company’s report on Sep 1, 2022. Copied from NHTSA on Oct 27, 2026.

Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

A loss of stability and control can increase the risk of a crash.

Vermeer Manufacturing Company (Vermeer) is recalling certain 2014-2015 Vac-Tron AIR833SDT, 2013 Vac-Tron AIR835SDT, 2017-2019 Vac-Tron AIR873SDT, 2014 Vac-Tron AIR533SDT, 2014 Vac-Tron AIR535SDT, 2001-2013 Vac-Tron AIR555SDT, 2017 Vac-Tron AIR753SDT, 2010-2013 Vac-Tron AIR855SDT, and 2020 Vac-Tron AIRSDT vacuum excavator trailers.

The frame may bend or become distorted, which can result in loss of stability and control while towing.

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt. Owners’ complaints are counted on each vehicle’s page.
  • Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
