The short answer

NHTSA received Vanguard National Trailer Corporation’s report on May 17, 2022. Copied from NHTSA on Oct 19, 2026.

Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

Hub bearing failure could cause the wheel hub assembly to detach, causing a loss of stability and control, or create a road hazard, and increase the risk of a crash.

Vanguard National Trailer Corporation (Vanguard) is recalling two 2022 VIP 53 ft. trailers.

The wheel hubs may have an insufficient amount of lubrication, which could cause the hub bearings to fail.

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt. Owners’ complaints are counted on each vehicle’s page.
  • Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
