What’s wrong with it?
A trapped gas pedal can result in unintended acceleration, causing the vehicle to not decelerate as expected when the driver lifts their foot from the gas pedal, increasing the risk of a crash.
General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain All-Weather Floor Liners with part number 42686568, sold for use as front driver-side accessory floor liners for 2017-2021 Bolt vehicles.
Insufficient clearance between the liner and the gas pedal may result in the pedal becoming trapped by the liner.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
