Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

If the furnace moves within the cabinet, it may detach from the exhaust vent, possibly causing a build up of carbon monoxide inside the vehicle, increasing the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning or death.

Forest River, Inc.

(Forest River) is recalling certain 2020 Surveyor recreational trailers equipped with a specific 30K BTU furnace.

The furnace may not have been properly secured inside the furnace cabinet, allowing it to move freely inside the cabinet.

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt. Owners’ complaints are counted on each vehicle’s page.
  • Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
