What’s wrong with it?
Tow hitch plates that bend, break, or crack welds can make the towed equipment difficult to control or cause separation of the tow vehicle increasing the risk of a crash.
Aries Industries Inc.
(Aries) is recalling certain Tow Hitches manufactured for several truck brands and models with Class 3 and Class 4 tow weight ratings.
The tow hitches may not be able to tow the rated weight rating of these vehicles, which can cause the hitch plates to bend or break, or cause cracked welds.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
