What’s wrong with it?
A missing driver side mirror glass reduces visibility and increases the risk of a crash.
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain Mopar Outside Foldaway Heated Power Left Mirrors, part number 68147863AS and Mirror Replacement Glass, part number 68050299AA.
The driver side mirror glass can detach from the backing plate and no longer provide a reflective surface.
As such, these items fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, “Rear Visibility.”

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
