The short answer

NHTSA received Harbor Freight Tools’s report on Sep 1, 2020. Copied from NHTSA on Oct 20, 2026.

Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

The incorrect labels may result in the release of pressurized refrigerant, increasing the risk of injury.

Harbor Freight Tools (Harbor Freight) is recalling certain Pittsburgh Automotive A/C R134A Manifold Gauge Sets, part number 62707, sold between May 22, 2020 and August 11, 2020.

The labels for the high pressure and low pressure manifold and coupler valves may have been swapped, incorrectly stating which way to open or close the valves.

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
  • Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
