The short answer

NHTSA received TAP Worldwide, LLC’s report on Jul 8, 2020. Copied from NHTSA on Oct 20, 2026.

Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

Reduced vehicle stability from installing 40” tires can increase the risk of a crash during certain emergency maneuvering situations.

TAP Worldwide, LLC (TAP) is recalling certain Rubicon Express 4.5” and 5.5” Super-Flex suspension lift kits, part numbers JT7147, Universal lift kit JT7099, Arm lift kit JT7102, and W/GCB lift kit JT7145 sold for installation on 2020-2021 Jeep Gladiator vehicles.

The fitment guide for the lift kits may have inaccurately stated that 40” tires are compatible with the kit, however, installation of 40” tires can affect vehicle stability in certain emergency maneuvering situations.

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
  • Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
