Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.
What’s wrong with it?
If the cylinders cannot be inspected or pass inspection, the cylinders can fail and increase the risk of a fire or injury.
Winkelmann Flowform Technology LP (WFT) is recalling certain 327 liter compressed natural gas cylinders, part number CNG-327L-2560N.
The font size of the cylinder labels may be too small and may be missing the type 3 designation, which will prevent the cylinders from passing inspection.
As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 304, “Compressed Natural Gas Fuel Container Integrity.”

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
