What’s wrong with it?
In the event of a crash, a disabled air bag would increase the risk of injury. An uncommanded deployment of the driver’s air bag also increases the risk of injury and a crash.
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2019 CR-V vehicles.
The metal core of the steering wheel may have burrs which can damage the harnesses routed within, potentially disabling the driver’s air bag or causing it to deploy without warning.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt. Owners’ complaints are counted on each vehicle’s page.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
