What’s wrong with it?
The incorrect gear selection display may cause the operator to falsely assume that the truck is in neutral, possibly resulting in the truck moving unexpectedly, increasing the risk of a crash.
Daimler Trucks North America, LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2020 Freightliner Cascadia vehicles equipped with an ICU3S Instrument Cluster and a DT12 automated manual transmission.
When the transmission is shifted out of the Neutral (N) position, the instrument cluster will continue to display the “N” position.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt. Owners’ complaints are counted on each vehicle’s page.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
