The short answer

NHTSA received IMT Standen’s Limited Partnership’s report on Dec 2, 2019. Copied from NHTSA on Oct 20, 2026.

Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

If the leaf spring breaks, it can separate from the vehicle and become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.

IMT Standen’s Limited Partnership (Standen) is recalling certain 3 Leaf Tapered Springs, part numbers 355-00 and TRA 2727, sold as aftermarket replacements for installation on dry van or refrigerated and flatbed trailers.

The leaf springs may crack allowing the leaf springs to break prematurely.

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
  • Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
