The short answer

NHTSA received MORryde International, Inc.’s report on Jul 19, 2019. Copied from NHTSA on Oct 20, 2026.

Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

If the rotating pin box has been unlocked and allowed to rotate, the shorter bolt can allow the wedge that locks out the rotation of the pin box to break free from the pin box, allowing the rotating pin box to rotate in two places, increasing the risk of a crash.

MORryde International, Inc.

(MORryde) is recalling certain You Turn and Orbital Rotating Pin boxes.

The pin boxes may have been equipped with bolts 1-3/4” in length when they should be equipped with 2” long bolts.

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
  • Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
