What’s wrong with it?
If the brake drum separates or if the brakes become inoperative, it can increase the risk of a crash.
Navistar, Inc.
(Navistar) is recalling certain 2019 International LT heavy diesel trucks equipped with feature codes 29WAY, 504312, and 504455.
The lightweight brake drums with slack adjusters may drag against the brakes causing the drums to overheat which can result in the brake drum cracking, separating from the vehicle or the brakes becoming inoperative.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt. Owners’ complaints are counted on each vehicle’s page.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
