The short answer

NHTSA received Supreme Corporation’s report on Mar 9, 2018. Copied from NHTSA on Oct 24, 2026.

Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.

Supreme Corporation (Supreme) is recalling certain 2003-2018 Supreme Signature Van, Iner-City, Kold King, and Service Body trucks, equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button ‘Pindicator’ Fire Extinguishers.

These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or requiring excessive force to activate the extinguisher.

Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable.

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt. Owners’ complaints are counted on each vehicle’s page.
  • Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
